I, Mark Ayre am working on a project to help out 50 family that live high up above the hydro power in Nepal.
I am working with an alternative energy company in New Zealand ( Independent Power )who have sourced a solar powered unit that is UN approved.
The unit has 2 solar panels. A battery and solar controller and two lights plus USB port to charge a cell phone. It is all plug and play.
The project is in early stages but I am looking for people to sponsor a solar unit.
Then I link up each family who has a unit with the sponsor.
I am just getting the costings worked out then we can organise how handle the money side of the deal.
All the sponsors money will go directly to the families by supplying them with solar power unit.
If you are happy to help then I will keep you informed as we progress along.
I have spent the last two climbing season working with these Sherpas in Nepal and this is a small way I am trying to help them out.
My back ground is in alternative energy and conservation. I have been working for Adventure Consultants for years building and supplying equipment to help keep the expedition technology going in the mountains.
Da jangbu sherpa has always been my right hand man while building and setting up base camp for Adventure Consultant at everest these last two years.
I have also been linking up a nz building company ( Placmakers )to work with an voluntary organizations ALL Hands and help build 50 houses and five schools in Nepal.
